COOPERATIVE SPONSORS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

(Cassopolis, MI) -- Midwest Energy Cooperative is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.

High school seniors whose parents or guardians currently receive monthly electric service from Midwest Energy Cooperative, and whose primary residence is in Midwest’s service area, may apply for one of the four $500 college scholarships to be presented in spring 2008.

Selection for the scholarship is based on academic performance, extra-curricular activities, community involvement and/or employment, and honors and awards.  Applicants will also be asked to submit a short essay.  A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a four-point system is required.

Scholarship applications must be postmarked by Friday, March 21, 2008, and winners will be notified in late April.

To request a scholarship application, please contact Nicole Barfell at 269-445-1112.  You may also download the application at our website at www.TeamMidwest.com
