Youth Leadership Summit and Youth Tour
Michigan Electric Cooperative Association Youth Leadership Summit - Kettunen Center
Every year in April, about 30 teens from Michigan cooperatives gather at the beautiful Kettunen 4-H Center near Cadillac for three days learning and fun. Students meet new friends, gain leadership skills, and learn about electricity and the cooperative way of doing business. You will learn how to climb a pole, tour a television studio and watch a live newscast, and tour Wolverine Power Supply and get a behind-the-scenes understanding of how electricity flows to your home. There is a lot of free time as well for volleyball, hiking, canoeing, campfires and more!
Midwest Energy Cooperative sponsors up to four students for Youth Leadership Summit. There is no cost to the student. You must be a high school sophomore or junior.

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Tour - Washington D.C.
The NRECA Youth Tour brings together 1,400 students from cooperatives all over the United States for a week of touring, learning and fun in the Capitol. You will tour national monuments and museums, meet legislators, see performances and create memories to last a lifetime. All of this is sponsored by the participating cooperatives – there is no cost to the student! Midwest Energy Cooperative selects up to two students from Teen Days to attend the Youth Tour.
