We continue changing the landscape at the intersection of M60 and Decatur Road, and brought two more members into the fold as project partners this month.
Steve Jacks is the sales manager at Burkhart Signs. Burkhart is a local company that has been serving the region for 52 years, and their innovative signage solutions can be seen far and wide. More importantly, Steve is a co-op member who lives in Dowagiac with his wife and two sons. They are proud co-op members who also use our propane and fiber internet services.
Burkhart Signs is the signage partner for the Utility of the Future building. They recently produced and installed the construction sign, and are beginning to develop designs for the Midwest monument and other signs that will welcome members, customers and guests to our new building.
Steve is obviously happy that Burkhart was selected as a project partner, but also honored to play a role in this project for his co-op. “I’m excited to use my years of experience and knowledge to create signage solutions right here in my own community and for my cooperative,” Steve says. “This building design is unique, and incorporating some of the architectural embellishments and making them come to life in the sign design will be exciting. Knowing I had a hand in this project and working with the local community makes me very proud.”
We are also pleased to welcome American Waste Systems to our project team. The Union-based company has been a co-op commercial member since 1998, and is providing on-site waste services at the construction site. “I love that Midwest is committed to using co-op members where they can through this building process. It demonstrates a great commitment to this community and the membership, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this historic build,” says Tom Harman, owner.
