How does it work?
We’ve teamed with SpartanSolar to build a community solar array on our Cassopolis property and provide panel subscriptions. A subscription entitles you to a share of the energy produced through the array. Plus you’ll get credits on your bill. There is nothing to install or maintain, and you can cancel at any time.
The array is planned to be completed by fall of 2018, but beginning in January, you will be able to subscribe to lease one or more panels.
However, you don’t have to wait until then to express interest. Simply submit your information via spartansolar.com, and we’ll contact you early next year to discuss your contract and activation.
- Subscription costs: $600/panel upfront cost or $10 monthly payments for five years
- 15-year agreement
- Credit of $.10/kWh generated
How Does it Work?
After you install your renewable energy generation system, we’ll install a special two-way meter that records how much electricity you use and how much you are putting on the grid. Every kWh you produce and use in your home is a kWh you don’t have to buy from us. If you use more than you produce, you will be billed for the difference. If you use less than you produce, you will be credited the full retail rate for the energy you provide to us in accordance with the applicable standard service tariff.
- 10-year agreement
- Retail offsets for kWh produced and used
- 20kWh cap
If you are interested in participating, please fill out our Distributed Renewable Energy Generator Interconnection Application and email it to us at email@example.com.
