As we close the chapter on 2017, here is an update on our fiber project. We know some of you have been waiting for what feels like forever, but we are over half-way done. In fact, we’re about to enter year four of five. This project covers hundreds of miles of territory not to mention drops to thousands of businesses and residences. So we appreciate your patience as we continue to work hard to bring high-speed internet to rural southwest Michigan.

Mattawan: Construction is complete and we have lit some subscribers. We’re continuing individual drops and installations through the winter, weather permitting.

North Marcellus/South Lawton: We’ve started mainline construction and some splicing. Drop construction and splicing will begin first quarter of 2018. If all goes as planned, we’ll begin lighting subscribers second quarter of 2018.

Union: Walkouts and mainline construction have begun with home installations tentatively scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2018.

West Three Rivers: Walkouts will begin in second quarter of 2018 and home installations will be just a few short months away in the third quarter.

As with any construction project, these timelines can change, particularly if Mother Nature throws us a major curve ball.

We are dedicated to eliminating the digital divide that rural America faces with lack of access to modern internet. As Leslie in Decatur can attest to, your whole family will benefit from the reliability of fiber internet: “It has been wonderful to no longer have bandwidth limitations and to finally be able to have streaming available! Our grandchildren are much happier to come to visit now that they can use the internet as they are used to at home. That has been a valuable plus!!”
