Via Web Browser
- Log into your account.
- Register the phone number that will receive texts.
- Go to Notifications → Manage Contacts.
- Click “Add Phone Contact,” write your phone number, and check the box next to “Receive Text Messages.”
- Agree to the Text Terms & Conditions.
- Enter the verification code you receive at your phone number and click “Save Contact.”
- Sign up for notifications.
- Go to Notifications → Manage Notifications.
- Click “On Demand.”
- Find the “Text Message” drop-down menus next to “Midwest Energy and Communications Maintenance Notification” and “Midwest Energy and Communications Fiber Outage Restoration.”
- Choose your phone number in both menus and click “Save Settings.”
- Close “On Demand” and choose “Service.”
- Find the drop-down menu under “Text Message” and next to “Telecom Planned Outage.”
- Choose your phone number and click “Save Settings.”

- Log into your account.
- Register the phone number that will receive texts.
- Go to Settings → Contact Methods.
- Under “Add New Contact Method,” choose “Phone.”
- Write your phone number and make sure the “Receive Text Messages” toggle is ON.
- Agree to the Text Terms & Conditions.
- Enter the verification code and choose “Verify.”
- Sign up for notifications.
- Go to Settings → Manage Notifications.
- Click “On Demand.”
- Under “Midwest Energy and Communications Maintenance Notification,” choose “Edit Contacts.”
- Under “Text Message,” slide the toggle next to your phone number ON and click “Save.”
- Go back a page. Under “Midwest Energy and Communications Fiber Outage Restoration,” choose “Edit Contacts” and repeat the step above.
- Go back to the “Manage Notifications” screen and choose “Service.”
- Under “Telecom Planned Outage,” choose “Edit Contacts.”
- Under “Text Message,” slide the toggle next to your phone number ON and click “Save.”
