When you’ve got a job to do, you need the right tools at your fingertips. SmartHub is our secure online and mobile platform — the ultimate power tool for convenient account access and management. New users must complete a short registration process.
Following are a few of the ways you can use SmartHub to manage your account and service experience:
- Outage Reporting: Quickly report your service interruption without waiting for the next available phone representative.
- Notifications: Sign up to receive select text or email account notifications, including outage, billing and usage information.
- Bill & Pay: View your current account balance and due date, make a payment, manage recurring payments, and modify payment methods.
- Contact Midwest: Got a question or concern – we’re just a quick click away!
- Service Status: Report a service issue or find out if there are any known issues related to your account.
- My Usage: Access detailed information to better understand and manage your energy use.
Ways To Pay
AutopayPay your bill the easy way with no lines, no stamps and no hassles! We offer two convenient autopay options: bank draft and credit card. Sign up on SmartHub or by using our automated phone system at 800-492-5989.
District Service CentersWe have three district service centers where you can make a payment or speak with a customer care representative. Drop boxes are also available for after-hours use. Payments left after hours are posted during the next business day.
OWN IT Prepaid Metering ProgramOWN IT Prepaid Metering Program is more than a way to pay, it’s a lifestyle. Manage your energy consumption and pay for your electric service in advance and avoid one large payment based on the energy you already used. Click here to learn more about OWN IT.
PhoneMake a one-time payment by credit card or check using our Automated Phone System at 800-492-5989. Please have your account number ready. To protect the safety and security of your personal financial information, we are not able to take payments through our Customer Care Center.

New Service Request
Welcome to Midwest Energy Cooperative! Whether you’re new to the area or just new to Midwest, we’re glad you’re joining our co-op.
To get started, please contact us at 800-492-4989, visit one of our district service centers or complete the New Service Request form below. Please be prepared with one of the following: the nearest pole number, the nearest address OR the nearest crossroad intersection.
Once we’ve established the location, you will receive a New Construction Packet that includes all of the necessary forms and instructions. Once the forms are completed and returned, we will schedule an appointment with a field technician who will prepare an estimate. Construction will begin once the invoice is paid and inspections are returned.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Meter Base: Permanent 200 and 100 amp meter bases are available in all district service centers at no charge. Permanent 400 amp meter bases are available for purchase. We do not provide temporary meter bases.
Electrical Inspection: We must receive inspection approval from the electrical inspector before construction will begin. Here is the contact information for Southeast Michigan Inspectors and Southwest Michigan Inspectors.
