New Board Districts

Earlier this year, 91.7% of you voted YES to make MEC fiber customers cooperative members. It was a historic opportunity to welcome a whole new group to our cooperative family and you responded with wide open arms, saving MEC up to $20 million in taxes and ensuring that together we can continue to build vibrant, relevant, sustainable rural communities for years to come.

As we prepare to embark on this new adventure in July, we want to catch you up to date with a couple changes.

Change 2: Capital Credits

Credits will be allocated to your account based on the services you receive. If you only receive MEC electric service, credits will only be allocated for the electric service you use. If you receive both electric and fiber service, credits will be allocated for both services.

Please note that capital credits do not represent “cash in the bank.” They are disbursed when approved by the board of directors, or upon the passing of the customer. Please contact us at info@teammidwest.com with any questions about capital credits.
