Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC) is teaming up this year with Indiana Michigan Power during the Cass County Fair to help raise money for the Cass County Firemen's Association.

On Tuesday, July 30, employees from the two utilities will work alongside area firefighters to prep and serve meals at the Firemen's Grill, located on the midway at the fairgrounds. All proceeds and donations from the week will support the purchase of agriculture rescue equipment, additional active violence equipment, and ongoing training for the 13 fire departments and seven ambulance services that comprise the local association.

2019 marks the third year MEC has supported this effort, helping to raise more than $13,000 just through sales and donations. In 2017 an additional $10,000 was donated through Wolverine Power Association and Co-Bank, both partners of MEC.

The Grill opens at 11 a.m. daily during fair week.
