You're Invited to Our New Esports Tournament!

Doors Open: 4:30 p.m. 
Tournament Starts: 5:30 p.m. 
Where: MEC Esports Arena @ Southwestern Michigan College, Barbara Wood Building 
Who: Esports teams of three from across southwest Michigan 
What: Single-elimination Rocket League tournament for fun and prizes 

Teams of three will compete in a single-elimination bracket at SMC’s Barbara Wood Building. Teams can be school affiliated, or you can sign up to compete with two friends – you simply need to form a team prior to registering (we will not match you up on the day of the tournament). 

We still have room for spectators! RSVP by October 6, 2023!

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the first game starting at 5:30 p.m. 

Tournament Prizes:

  • Third – $100 gift card for each teammate plus $100 donation to your school (school-sponsored teams) or charity of choice (non-school teams)  
  • Second – $250 gift card for each teammate plus $300 donation to your school (school-sponsored teams) or charity of choice (non-school teams)  
  • Grand Prize – Xbox Series X console for each teammate plus $500 donation to your school (school-sponsored teams) or charity of choice (non-school teams)  
  • SMC scholarships ($1,000 pool)  

Scholarships will be awarded based on student grade and skill level rather than tournament placement.  

Even if you’re just spectating, there’s plenty of fun to be had:   

  • Door prizes  
  • Food truck – Sweet Racks & Smokin’ Butts BBQ (while supplies last)  
  • Board game room  
  • Yard games  
  • Feel free to bring your own handheld gaming devices, such as your Nintendo Switch 

Admission will be on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to school teams. To ensure we have enough space and food for competitors, spectators will be waitlisted.  

Note that competitors will not be allowed to use personal peripherals or equipment.
