The Cass County Council on Aging can serve local seniors better than ever thanks to its new Adult Day Service expansion! The grand opening was held Friday, July 24, as part of the COA’s Grandfest celebration.
Participants in the Adult Day Service program get the chance to connect with each other by listening to music, playing games, sharing meals, and much more. According to the COA’s monthly newsletter The Messenger, the expansion doubled the facility’s capacity, enhancing its ability to provide care for seniors living with dementia, memory loss, and other age-related changes.
The expansion was made possible via a grant from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. The COA also received a rebate on a new, energy-efficient HVAC system through the State of Michigan’s Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) Program.
