On June 30, 2026, Fibrosan, a fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) manufacturer, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility in our MEC SMART Park , located next to our headquarters in Cassopolis, Michigan.
Fibrosan is a family-owned company that began in Turkey in the 1980s. It currently serves customers in over 65 countries and employs over 450 people.
The $16.8 million Phase 1 of the project is anticipated to open in March of 2027 and will bring 35 jobs to Cassopolis. The new facility will supply the RV, automotive, and construction industries in Elkhart, Indiana, Detroit, Michigan, and beyond. It will help the company significantly reduce lead times and provide better supply chain stability.
This project was made possible by the dedication and hard work of Fibrosan, the Village of Cassopolis, Cass County, the MEDC, MarketOne, and Midwest Energy & Communications.
Several generations of the Yucel family (Fibrosan’s owners) traveled from Turkey to attend the groundbreaking ceremony. The Turkish Chicago Consulate General also made the trip along with staff members for U.S. Senator Gary Peters, U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg, Michigan Senator Aric Nesbitt, all of whom noted the impact that projects like these have on our local communities.
