Our Hiring Process
At MEC, we’re excited that you’re considering a career with us! We know applying for a new job can feel both exciting and stressful, so we want to be transparent about what you can expect from our process. Here’s a step-by-step look at how it works.
Application Period
Most job postings remain open for about two weeks. However, for positions that typically receive a high number of applicants, we may post them for a shorter window. Once a posting closes, we carefully review all submissions. This review period may take up to two weeks, so if you don’t hear from us right away, please don’t worry. We do our best to keep applicants updated throughout the process.
What to Expect

Application Review – We manually review all submitted resumes and select a group of candidates to move forward.

Assessments – For some positions, you may be asked to complete an online aptitude and personality assessment. Applicants for apprentice/lineman roles will also complete a basic pole yard skills test and a written test.

Initial Interviews – We may begin with a phone or video interview before inviting candidates for an in-person interview. This is our first chance to get to know each other, review your skills and decide if we should keep pursuing this together.

Panel Interview – Selected candidates will meet with a small group of MEC team members for a deeper discussion about skills, experience, and fit.

Team Meet & Greet – If it hasn’t already happened, you’ll also have a chance for a casual meet-and-greet with team members to ensure a good fit on both sides.

Offer – Once everyone, including you, feels this is the right match, we’ll reach out with a formal offer.

Please note that at each stage of the process, we continue to narrow down the candidate pool. If you are not selected to move forward, you will be notified by email.
