Midwest Energy & Communications (MEC) teamed up last week with Indiana Michigan Power during the Cass County Fair to help raise money for the Cass County Firemen’s Association.

On Tuesday, July 30, employees from the two utilities worked alongside area firefighters to prep and serve meals at the Firemen’s Grill. Total gross sales for the day were $3,956.50, the biggest income day for the six-day stretch according to Paul Harris, representing the Firemen’s Association. All net proceeds and donations from the week, which amounted to $6,538.12, will support the purchase of agriculture rescue equipment, additional active violence equipment, and ongoing training for the 13 fire departments and seven ambulance services that comprise the local association.
