SpartanSolar-MEC Community Solar Array

The SpartanSolar-MEC 2,484 community solar array officially became energized on Dec. 19. When the sun is shining, the array is actively generating power and sending it to our power supplier, Wolverine Power Cooperative.

Wolverine leads Michigan's utilities with nearly twenty percent renewable energy in its fuel mix and this array will make that mix even greener. In fact, the array can supply nearly a full megawatt of energy, enough to power roughly 150 rural Michigan homes. Plus, you can be a part of it.

Our community solar program offers an affordable way for you to make a long-term commitment to Michigan's environment by choosing renewable energy as a power source. Instead of putting costly solar panels on your roof, your panel subscription entitles you to a share of the energy produced. There is nothing to install, nothing to maintain, and you can cancel at any time.

We predict that each panel will generate about $40 in account credits each year and while this will not reflect a significant savings on your electric bill, it will give you the chance to participate in clean energy production.

Subscription Details

Subscribe now for $600 per panel or $10 per month for five years. Subscriptions last 15 years and you will receive a credit of $.10/kWh generated per panel.

Rebate Available

We've extended the deadline for Michigan residents to receive a $150/panel rebate. If you subscribe by Dec. 31, 2019 and pay the $600/panel up-front cost, you can claim a rebate on up to 20 panels.
