Scholarships

We offer two scholarship opportunities: the MEC Video Challenge, and a scholarship for Southwestern Michigan College-bound students.

MEC Video Challenge

High School Seniors: Complete a video challenge by March 17, 2025 and you could earn $1,000 towards your trade school or college education.

Additionally, up to two winners will be able to apply for a second scholarship after completing their first year of trade school or college.

Please note: Children of MEC employees and board members are not eligible to apply.

The Challenge

Pick ONE of MEC’s three main services (electric, propane, fiber internet) and create a 60-90 second video to promote it.

Think outside the box! Imagine you’re making a commercial for TV. What kinds of artwork, storytelling, and other creative flourishes can you use?
