Customer and Community Service Continues

Published on Thursday, April 30, 2020 in COVID-19

There is no such thing as “business as usual” these days. As business operations shutter all over the region in response to COVID-19, Midwest Energy & Communications is still working to meet the needs of our customers and support our communities.

Customer Service: Our lobbies with remain closed at least through May, but our Solutions Agents are still available to answer questions at 800.492.5989.

Fiber Installations and Propane Tank Sets: We will begin doing in-home fiber internet installations and new propane tank sets the week of May 11. Our employees will be appropriately fitted with the necessary personal protective equipment, and we ask customers to also wear a face covering and practice safe social distancing while our employee is in the home.

Resources For You: Just like it’s not business as usual right now, it’s not life as usual. We’re all learning new ways to do things. We’ve created a COVID-19 Resource Page with tips on working, learning, and playing from home. We are also continuing our free internet speed upgrade to 100 Mbps.

Wi-Fi Access Points: We have leveraged our fiber network to support those who are working and learning from home without a robust internet service. Free public Wi-Fi access is now available from the parking lot at our MEC Headquarters – 60590 Decatur Road, Cassopolis; and our former headquarters – 901 E State Street, Cassopolis. Simply look for MEC Public Wifi and accept the terms and conditions to access the service.

We’re all impacted by these frightening times. There is so much unknown right now, but we’re still here and together we’ll get through this.
