Install your Mesh Satellite Wi-Fi Extender

Watch this quick video to learn how to set up the mesh extender in your home or follow the written instructions below.

  1. Before you begin the sync process, plug the mesh unit into a power outlet that’s in the same room as the MEC-installed router and allow 15 minutes for the mesh to properly boot. Once the power light is solid green, you can start the sync.
  2. Press and hold the WPS button on the MEC-installed router for 7-10 seconds. When released, the WPS light will begin to blink amber.
  3. On the mesh unit, press the WPS button on the back of the device until the Wi-Fi Backhaul lights begin to blink green, then release the button.
  4. Allow 15 minutes for both devices to sync which may power cycle the mesh multiple times. Unplug and move the mesh to the desired location in your house ensuring that you have 3-4 green Wi-Fi green backhaul lights.

Important note: Avoid placing the mesh too close to the Wi-Fi router. If the signal strength indicator shows a red bar, the unit is too close to the router. Ideally the Wi-Fi backhaul lights should show 3 or 4 green LEDs. Lastly, if only the first one or two signal bars are lit, it indicates the mesh is too far from the router and the performance may be less than ideal.
